About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To bike ride across Africa (Cairo to Cape Town) - January 2013

ABOUT ME

I am a pretty open individual and pretty game to talk about any topic. I have a few passions in life, playing ice hockey, reading comic books, talking about personal finance, and just being a fan of geek culture. I want to branch out and travel more to see and experience the world and other cultures, which i haven't done much of yet. But that is why i am here.

PHILOSOPHY

To make others around me better. I think everyone wants to have a legacy and i hope to impact people and be a person that others can rely on even after not having spoken in years. The idea of sharing life with other people globally and expose them and myself to other cultures and ideas is why i get out of bed most mornings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For anyone coming to the capital of the US, i am open to having them stay at my place for a night or two. I can meet anyone around town for coffee, a drink and to introduce them to other locals. I hope to foster great experiences for fellow travelers and hosts and make lifelong friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have spent time with hosts in Austria, Hungary and Japan. Not only was i hosted, but went to several gatherings (christmas eve dinner and a concert) and met a ton of awesome people. I am hooked and can't wait to meet other couchsurfers at home in the states or abroad while traveling. I was fortunate enough to host one of the people i stayed with on my first CS experience in Washington, DC. It was great to be able to return the favor.

Interests

Ice Hockey, Politics, Movies, Comic books (Batman, Green Lantern, others), trying new foods, good beer, meeting new people, good music (trance, house, progressive, all electronica).

Music, Movies, and Books

Really on a techno/house binge lately. Don't know where that came from, but i am digging it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While there are a lot of momentary amazements, the most amazing thing i have ever seen is Niagara Falls. There is nothing more incredible than staring at the falls for hours and thinking of all of the others that have been there before as tourists or even to think of all the people that settled the area and what they must have thought prior to the existence of all the tall buildings around.

Teach, Learn, Share

Whether its about american culture, personal finance, talking about life experiences, i feel there is a lot to be learned from all of the anecdotes that are passed around on a daily basis. These stories are my lifeblood and i really enjoy sharing my thoughts and opinions on all subjects. Additionally, I really am looking forward to learning more and more about other cultures and really about how people outside of this country view Americans. I think i have a sense for how most people spend their days here in the States, but i want to know how people live throughout the world on a daily basis.
