About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Float

ABOUT ME

I am a treehugger with an East Coast edge. I equally enjoy the city and the middle of nowhere and prefer to be near bodies of water, particularly waterfalls and oceans. I went to graduate school at a Buddhist institution and have softened up the crassness of my Washingtonian self as a result.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this community and presently do not have anything but a tent and a car to offer in lieu of sleeping arrangements. I just found out about this website before I started a road trip. It was suggested to me because I wasn't sure about my choice of destination.

Interests

Healing arts and spirituality, sitting outside when I am supposed to be hiking, interior design, alternative cultures gone extreme, books, movies, music, and a repressed obsession with dance.

Music, Movies, and Books

Heathers, The Diving Bell and The Butterfly, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman, Shamanism by Mircea Eliade, The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende, The Pink Institution by Selah Satertstrom,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once sat next to Beenieman's brother on an airplane. Beenieman was in first class and his brother was in coach. His brother ate a fried fish off the bone that he had wrapped in tin foil. I got to meet Beenieman who is much prettier than his brother. On the next flight I took that day, the plane landed wrong and we almost killed beach bathers and had to open the door of the plane ourselves before helping to push it off the beach and on to the runway.

Teach, Learn, Share

I secretly adore telling stories from my imagination on the spot with a few words given as perameters. This excercize always ends up far better in content than anything I have produced in my two years of MFA study. I can share this, gladly.
