About Me

My parents are originally from Costa Rica but I have been raised in the US since I was 3 years old. I went back when i was 18 seeing as I had no clue what it meant to be a costarican. I used to be wicked shy but that completely changed when I started high school. Very optimistic and happy person but when I have to get stuff done, I get it done. I am very random so don't be surprised if you get a random comment or question here and there.

I decided to move to Brazil after I finished acquiring my Bachelors of Arts in International Relations. Not knowing a word of Portuguese. I am a very open minded individual. I have only one rule in life: "no regrets". I lived in São Paulo for around 5 months and traveled to 8 out of the 12 countries in the continent. South America has made me realize a lot of things about myself and my future. I completely love the region and cannot wait to backpack in other regions as well as complete some of the countries that I left off in this trip.

PHILOSOPHY

Pura vida: literally means Pura = pure and vida = life, but "Pure life" in Spanish would be Vida pura instead, so the real meaning is closer to plenty of life, full of life, going great, and/or just living life to its fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couch surfing gave me the ability to travel into destinations i thought were never possible. I hope to give as much back to the community as each one of my host gave to me.

Interests

I am a big fan of just hanging out in the living room and watching movies or just talking/debating. I am a big political junkie.. oh and I enjoy running, and hiking. Its my way of clearing out my mind and relaxing. One of my favorite things to do in a new city is walk around and check out the architecture as well as things that make each city different or better than the last one I visited. My running shoes were essential and a big part of my adventure around some of Latin Americas cities.

Also, each country is as special as its cities. I love getting the chance to compare and contrast its progress in social development, foreign policy, economics and architectural structures in order to understand how each societies coexist with its characters.
