About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn how to farm in the city
ABOUT ME
I am a proud New Yorker with a love/hate relationship with my city (something that I find many New Yorkers have). I love to explore New York, show it off and talk about it.
Though I am not currently in school, I always consider myself a student; I am interested in social and political theory as well as philosophy. These interests have led me to agriculture (a way it all makes sense), which I am intensively studying/learning as an apprentice. Give me two years and I'll show you around my farm in NYC. for now I am working at the Snug Harbor Heritage Farm.
I am always interested in new ideas, skills, activities, challenges especially if they are a break from the ordinary.
PHILOSOPHY
Keep a free and easy wandering mind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host when I can, surf when I travel, and try to help confused travelers of NYC.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am fairly new to this community, but I've surfed a few couches, go out to a few meet-ups and totally love it.
Interests
When I'm travelling I am attracted to the great outdoors: hiking, biking, exploring urban jungles, and the like. Discovering new food, I get excited about local street food, and music, especially instruments (drums, percussion, anything I can bang on). I recently picked up an ukulele, which is the perfect companion for the road and will probably join me in the future.
When I am at home I try to get out on my bike as much as I can and hike when weather and time permit. I usually have some pet project that I focus my attention on - currently I am trying to do more home cooking from scratch, e.g. making pasta dough, making yogurt.
More recently I am interested in growing food, I've been toying a bit with growing mushrooms with no significant success yet.

Music, Movies, and Books
For books I tend towards classics, more so Americana, as well as my interests in social theory and political philosophy.
Musically, my tastes are varied. Many of my friends are musicians, so local music is important to me. Nothing beats the good vibes of a live performance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Learning to blow fire from a performer at a bar in South Africa. It was one of my first memorable travel experiences that really sticks with me.
Jumping off a cliff at La'ie Point in Oahu, Hawaii.
