About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To keep on enjoying this path I have forged

ABOUT ME

I'm kinda crazy on the inside but very few people get to see it on the outside. I do love a good udon or tofu katsu don and yoga at the crack of dawn is fantastic! I enjoy seeing the world and hanging out with people from lots of different walks of life. Chocolate is the bomb but a beer or red wine with close friends is the ultimate.

PHILOSOPHY

Slow down long enough so the things you are searching for can catch up... Calm down, relax or you will miss the signs...

Always have faith in the fact that when one door closes another will open. Doors closing are a good thing, it keeps us on our toes and evolving! Don't stress if you miss the door the first time, it will definately open again, maybe into an even more wonderful space.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Introduced by Zaigs aka Ziggles to the phenomenon and had an awesome time surfing in Windy Welly.

Was then fully immersed into the CS scene In NYC and what can I say... I'm blown away by the kindness, generosity and camaraderie. I met some fantastic people through CS and would recommend ANY network that is set up to support travelers in providing a home away from home. NYC was definately a crazy and amazing ride which I am certain would not have been anywhere near as fantastic if it weren't for the CSrs I met there.

Interests

Art, Architecture, Urban Design, Sociology, reading theory and philosophy (when I'm in the right head space). Travelling to weird and amazing places, meeting weird/interesting/wonderful people! Reading anything and nothing... Movies and film when I make time. Animals [but not bugs or reptiles.. and yes I know they are not classed as animals but hey I live in Australia], nature, the changing of the seasons, walking through the city aimlessly, big or small, watching people. Country towns, rolling hills, trees, the wind, the rain, Yoga, the sunrise/dusk! NO HOMEWORK! SLEEP!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Everything, except heavy metal and techno. I love Oldies, 80's, Classical, Jazz, Blues, Grunge, Rock, Indie, House, whatever my Ipod is playing (which sometimes can be a little embarassing)... Don't tell Whitney I said that :)

BOOKS: I've read so many I can't remember my favorites... Ask me what I'm reading right now and I will let you know how its going. But I enjoy reading architecture theory and philosophy when I'm in the right head-space. I also love reading biographies (on anyone) and humanities titles (to try and get smart).

MOVIES: I have a terrible memory for this sort of stuff, I can never remember movies I have seen, I can even watch the movie 3/4 of the way through and THEN realise that I have seen it already...! I enjoy most types of movies... except scary ones unless of course I have someone to snuggle with afterwards!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't do A thing, it needs to be thing[S]...

Watching the sunrise over the Taj on Christmas morning,
spending the rest of the day with orphaned girls in Jaipur. Cycling from Vietnam to Cambodia... following the latest red eclipse in Melbourne... passing semesters... moving out of home... surviving NYC!

Teach, Learn, Share

A wise person once told me that your best often changes, one day is always different to the next, allow yourself to be human and accept that along with your best changing your expectations of yourself should too :)
