About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To seek out loopholes in the standard way to live life - and to be a slightly better dude every day

ABOUT ME

I am a writer/editor/producer, so I tend to overanalyze and critique media. This makes it difficult for people to watch TV with me...

I want to make the world a smaller place. Not through internet but through face-to-face contact. I am nervous we listen to IPods too much and unplug and explore too little, though I'm as guilty of this as anyone.

I'm not religious but I feel blessed to be in the position I'm in and hope to give back somehow whenever I can.

PHILOSOPHY

The more you meet people from foreign lands, the more you discover we're all wired pretty much the same.

I also don't understand when modern societies came to the universal conclusion that God is not the sun. Frankly, to me it would make perfect sense...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel for my job. I stay in five-star resorts, get free bottles of wine and liquor sent to my room, am offered free massages and play golf all day. Then I listen to PR/marketing people pimp their resort to me in hopes I'll write good things. I usually do.

But 10 times out of 10 I'd rather travel and meet like-minded people, enjoy a good party, share a beer in a beer garden, and simply hang out. I like hanging out and also think I'm pretty good at it. I love throwing parties and playing music that people haven't heard of before.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I heard about CS from a fellow journalist in March, 08 - I stayed with a surfer in Portland a month later, met with a few others, and have since been hooked. I set up an event in DC and hosted a Christmas Party in Austin shortly after I moved here. I think diversity progresses mankind and hope to be a part of it. Beyond our accents & backgrounds, it doesn't matter where we are from - what makes us tick is basically the same.

Interests

I am a competitive bastard when it comes to bar games & other sports like pool, darts, fooseball, golf, basketball, etc. I like meeting new people from different places and having stimulating conversation. I have an unhealthy affinity for electronic music, Seinfeld, South Park and CNBC.
