ABOUT ME

Mainly I'm chatty and friendly. Apparently I look at the world in a slightly different way to others. Perfect weekend for me would be a walk up a mountain, then wine in a country pub and later a night on the tiles with karaoke, limbo, booze and dancing. As happy in walking boots to high heels.

I was introduced to CS during a year travelling, living and farming in Australia and got knee deep into the lovely Couchsurfing community.
Have been fortunate to travel around Nepal, including trekking in the Himalayas which was quite literally breathtaking! Plus Cuba, Italy and Croatia but haven't done any other CSing since Oz sadly.
I'm returning to Oz this month (April) for the wedding if friends made from a Couchsurf - if that isn't a good ad for CS I don't know what is!

I'm a writer/journalist so love to tell or hear a good story. I'm a reporter on my local paper, The Gazette in Blackpool. Blackpool is a pretty unique patch so I get a wealth of stories daily, from seedy murders or drug farms being found to entertainment news of the Vegas of the North to good news of local people's achievements. I absolutely love my job!

I love: Partying, writing/reading, baking/cooking and anything involving fancy dress aswell as putting the world to rights and drinking copious amounts of tea!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Joined in with various CouchSurfing barbecues and jazz nights and hosted a brilliant (if I may so say so myself!) Cmas party for "stranded travellers".
Also had some beautiful couchsurfs with weird and wonderful Aussies. Then hosted a beautiful Aussie, Ben, in return last year and showed him all the beauts that the North of England has to offer! Am now Australia bound again especially to see him marry a beautiful woman, Kristen, and reeled blessed to be able to do so.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Born into a wonderful, giving family.
Held my new born niece.
Flown over the Grand Canyon.
Walked around Ayers Rock.
Visited the Buddhas in Japan.
Mourned at Auschwitz.
Awarded an A in a Judaism course.
Got a front page newspaper story despite having no qualifications!
Continue to get front pages now I am qualified...!
Travelled around Australia.
Joined in an aboriginal spirits call.
Trekked in the Himalayas.
Ridden an elephant bareback thru the jungle.
Fished for my own breakfast.
Blagged my way onto a flight despite having just had my passport and boarding pass stolen by a very odd man!
Walked Plitvice lakes in Croatia
Set up a student radio station.

Teach, Learn, Share

I run writing workshops for children (8-11) fairly regularly. If you are at that level I'm a pretty good teacher! Otherwise, I'm in a choir so you could teach a four part harmony to ComeFly With Me...
