Eclectic student with a voracious appetite for learning that's well fed by the internet. Also love to learn in general which might help explain why I like to travel, try new foods, meet new people, learn about issues etc.

PHILOSOPHY

I recognize and value the importance of building community with others of similar spirit, values and beliefs .. mediating this sort of connecting via the internet helps.. but still is no substitute for meeting and "experiencing" one another face to face

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My first experience with Couch Surfing was with Hem in Nepal just recently (April 2010). The experience was very positive. Allowed much cherished direct experience of the culture of Nepal by visiting with a Nepali family. With my own enjoyment in receiving such opportunities (both recently and more in the future), I would hope to be able to reciprocate (pay it forward) by allowing others to experience the same unique opportunity by visiting with us in the UAE.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have done this on a number of occasions but not through the more formal introduction set up that "couch surfing" supports. We've been keen to meet and experience people of various cultures by being welcomed into their homes. We've been open to sharing as much about our own culture as we have been to learning about that of others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

traveled by bicycle - 3000 km to the Summer Olympics; took (10) day Vipassana meditation course; visited Findhorn - New Age community in the North of Scotland
