About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking to the Wright Brothers for how to turn my bicycle into an aircraft
ABOUT ME
Starting in Autumn 2010 I'm heading to school to be an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic (aka Aviation Mechanic). This will be followed shortly there after by taking on my private pilots license. With these skills I'd like to help make the industry more sustainable and travel the world bopping around fields and waterways. I will do my best but if it doesn't work out the way I've dreamed I will remain optimistic. As they say 'Getting there is half the adventure!'. Seattle has been good to me and I take great joy in sharing what a wonderful place it can be.
PHILOSOPHY
Repeat the cycle of life by sharing and learning continuously. Be open to new ways, uncomfortable silences, and strange smells/textures. Genuinely listen without the expectation to speak in return or be heard. In an ever changing world of instant communication and gratification appreciate the opportunities to simply be slow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting, 'local tour guide', and occasionally surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had the opportunity to host more often than surf in recent years. I've made lifelong friends where I've followed their progress around the world when I have not been able to travel myself. I'm looking forward to when I can travel again and see many familiar faces.
Interests
Traveling, bicycles, food, plants, futbol, mechanics, planes, and meeting people (in no particular order). I enjoy putting stuff together and learning from people with a passion for what they do.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Into the Wild, Sunshine, Up, Tank Girl, and Cowboy Bebop.
Books: Shantaram, Siddahartha, The Alchemist and manuals on herbal medicine, mechanics, and art.
Music: I like most music with the exceptions of pop country and hardcore rap. I go to shows as often as my monetary situation will allow and try to support local musicians.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Slept in a sphere hanging from a tree in Canada.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my knowledge of cooking/baking and bicycles. I am always open to learning more about these things so that I can pass along the favor. I'd like to know more about wine/cheese pairing, solar energy, sustainable/alternative housing, and string/percussion instruments.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Canada, France, Italy, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
