About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Writing fiction like my life depends on it / being girly but bad-ass but fancy-free

ABOUT ME

I'm the fiction editor of Esquire (Singapore), the editor of creative nonfiction magazine POSKOD (www.poskod.sg), the co-editor of literary journal Ceriph (www.ceriph.net) and the communications director of design & communications practice studioKALEIDO (www.studiokaleido.net)

I'm an independent bunny. I'm open-minded and certainly up for good conversations over coffee but I also like being left to my own devices. Often times I write till I forget it's time to go to bed.

PHILOSOPHY

"I do believe Marsellus Wallace, my husband, your boss, told you to take ME out and do WHATEVER I WANTED. Now I wanna dance, I wanna win. I want that trophy, so dance good."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I stay on a tiny, clinically efficient island where all of us live with our parents unless we're married *cough*, so I'm afraid I can't host for now, but would be happy to do a cuppa.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am quite a newbie here, -curtsey-

Music, Movies, and Books

-Movies-
anything by Wong Kar Wai besides My Blueberry Nights, Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers, Mulholland Drive, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Lost in Translation, The Royal Tenenbaums, and a penchant for old Hollywood flicks circa 60s but it's difficult to find anything of that sort here.

-Music-
Of Montreal, The Knife, Twin Shadow, Yeasayer, The Magnetic Fields, Crystal Castles, The XX.

(oh but don't let this fool you; i also have everything of The Beatles on vinyl.)

-Books-
anything by David Foster Wallace, anything by Murakami, anything by Bukowski, anything by Kerouac, The Great Gatsby, Lolita.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm. I could teach Chinese, perhaps creative-writing, & a wee bit of TCM pressure-point knowledge for self-stress-relief.
