ABOUT ME

ummm... im not very good at giving detailed descriptions. I guess im a bigger picture kind of guy. but ill give it a try anyway. so i started my travels when i was 15, went to the big apple by myself for the first time. after that i fell in love with traveling. when i was 16, my two best friends and i hopped in my car and drove out to the colorado rockies and had a great little adventure. i continued to travel after that until more recently, in 2006, i took off to europe. with no real idea of what i was going to do there, i traveled around a bit, surfing a couple couches on the way, worked some great jobs, and decided to live in florence, italy for about a year and a half. last august i came back to the states and settled in rhode island. already though, i am getting a little stir crazy and am thinking of my next move.

i suppose my contribution so far is actually getting out there and surfing peoples couches. proving that this idea, this community, works.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ive couchsurfed just a few times now, but all of them have been great. staying with people who live in the places you visit seems to be the best way to learn about the culture and have a real experience of the city rather than following the tourist maps. i love the conversations.
