ABOUT ME

I love traveling and not the easy way - I hitchhike, travel by trains, take stand-by flights. I enjoy going without a major plan and I choose my locations quite randomly. I usually travel somewhere once a month and 90% time alone.
My work is my passion - I have combined my 2 educations (asian studies and cooking), also studied accounting and own a Japanese restaurant for 8 years.
I have lived abroad twice - a year in Berlin and a year in Tokyo. Tokyo is my favorite place on earth, but better to visit than live in.
I am interested in nature, especially water, art, arts and music.

NB! I don't tolerate party animals, drinkers and heavy smokers in my home.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in karma (cause and effect) so I always try to be respectful and kind to everything around me. Smile creates another smile.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am mostly a COUCH. I always try to make time for my guests and show them around. My idea is that the old town tour can be done with a guidebook, however the special bars-restaurants-cafes and some walking routes are often hidden and I can take you there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done CS for a while now and like it a lot. I have had some weird situations too, but in general it is very nice idea and works almost perfectly. Since I don't have enough time and energy and I don't believe CS to be only an accommodation service, I don't host as often as I used to. I want to have time for my guest.

Interessen

socializing (when I am not tired I am very social and enjoy other people around me)
outdoor activities (I like snorkeling, diving, SUP boarding, kayaking, cycling, hiking and swimming), karaoke (who cares if you sing in tune, it is fun fun fun) and of course traveling!!! My last trip took me to Central America for 2 months traveling through 5 countries where I climbed an active volcano, learned Spanish with homestay, snorkeled and dived etc.
I respect the nature and try to think green.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

MUSIC
jazz, classical, indie and actually much more. I listen very different music depending on the mood. My favorite at the moment is AVISHAI COHEN.
BOOKS
Due to my impatient nature I am a lousy reader. I like Murakami, Estonian novelist Mehis Heinsaar and poetess-novelist Kristiina Ehin.
MOVIES
I like the work of Naoko Okigami (Megane, Kamome Shokudo). I much prefer European movies and indie.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Hitchhiked through Japan (Hokkaido, Chūbu, Kansai, Okinawa).
Took local slow trains across Japan, climbed a mountain in Hokkaido.
Hitchhiked from Estonia to Spain and back with my baby-sister.
Rode a horse in Cuba Vinales fields in heavy mud.
Swam in a pitch dark lake inside a mountain.
Saw a wild bear closer that 100m.
Learned salsa from cubans.
Worked as a private assistant for Samsung owner Mr. Lee.
