CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to see and live in new cultures, meet new and amazing people, and lean into life! I'm currently in Bali, and I plan to see many countries around the area! I want more authentic experiences with locals, it's the best way to understand and fully appreciate a new place!

ABOUT ME

I'm a very curious, creative, easy-going guy. I'm always looking for the unique experiences, and great people to share in those beautiful moments. I grew up in the mid-western town of Wadsworth, IL, just 50 miles north of Chicago. I realized my love for movies and art, and attended Columbia College Chicago for film and video education. I love movies and filmmaking as much as a I love to travel. I hope to marry the two loves of my life and one day I hope to travel while also making documentary films.

I want to meet people. I love people. Couch surfing allows me to meet people, and enjoy real, authentic experiences. Hostels are great for meeting tons of backpackers and having fun, but my mission this trip is to really connect with the culture and people of the countries I'm visiting!

I love cinematography and photography, and telling amazing stories. My travel goals are to learn about many cultures, have fun, and better myself while gaining an important perspective and understanding of this world.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I stayed with an ex-pat UK couple in their current home in southwestern France for 3 weeks while on a 3 month trip to Europe last year. It was through the help exchange network. I had to paint, build a fence, and do other basic chores. Building that fence was a very tough challenge, as I'm not the most skilled with building things. The experience was tough, but incredibly important to me, and very unique. I learned so much about myself and what I'm truly capable of doing. I didn't give up, and it felt so great! It was a real experience, unlike constantly partying at hostels. Don't get me wrong, a hostel party is great from time to time, but it's not as profound as deep connections with locals.

I can help you learn about photography, videography, and web design. I'm a pretty techy guy, so if you need help with something related to technology, I can probably help directly, or at least help problem-solve a solution. I can't cook much, but I do know how to make a Chicago-style deep dish pizza!

I love food, so I'm always up to learn how to cook different dishes. I buy the ingredients, you teach me how to cook a meal, sound like a deal?

I hope we can share authentic stories and positive energy. I'm becoming a very spiritual person at the moment, and I want to find good vibrations wherever I go!

I can share some interesting travel stories, like this one time my friends and I almost got robbed in the middle of Rome, with people all over the place! Or how I almost climbed, illegally, up an abandoned tower. Almost is the key word there...

I can also share my loving nature. It's the small things, the kind words, the smiles, the good attitude, the respect, that ripples around the world. I have a profoundly loving perspective of the world, and I feel that I bring that energy with me wherever I go.

I can also provide beer and booze! I don't drink that much anymore, but I'm always up for a few beers or some wine, and a swell conversation or night out making new stories.
