About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Easing back into our normal lives after an incredible year abroad. Trying to remember all the amazing lessons we learned.

ABOUT ME

We live and work in Washington, DC. We look past its bureaucracy and sweltering summers and love living there due to the fact that it feels like a small town but offers lots to do, our friends there are amazing, and we almost never have to bike up any big hills. In June 2011, we took off to travel for a year, starting in South America, then to Southern and Eastern Africa, India, Nepal, Southeast Asia, and ending with some family time in Europe. We enjoy being outdoors, small towns, mountains, and meeting new people especially if they tell really bad jokes. If you stay with us, we hope we can learn about where you come from, what kind of food you like, practice Spanish/Italian/French/German/English, or go out for a beer, see some live music or a baseball game, or hit one of DC's excellent (and mostly free) museums.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We didn't do as much couchsurfing as we wanted on our year abroad (mostly because we never planned far enough in advance), but we're excited to play host to some interesting and exciting people, and do what we can to give you the best experience in the city we love.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We were couchsurfing guests twice during our year abroad, and are excited to start hosting people now that we're home

Interests

Being outside: hiking, rock climbing, camping, diving, sitting in a park with a good book. Food, cooking, trying new cuisines. Traveling, obviously!
