ABOUT ME

PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfing has become a passion for me. It's a way of life: I live it, breathe it, drink it, and I absolutely love it!
I did a lot of couch surfer hosting in my twenties and was deeply involved in the local Denver CS scene for a stint.

- Hosting: I think I'm somewhere around 60 or 70+ guests.
- Surfing: So far, only three times, but each time was all I could've hoped for and more!
- Organizing: Many meet-ups and events in Denver, including "Surfers in the Park" which was a weekly summer event.
- Spreading the love: I guess I'm sort of a networker by nature- I love making connections with people and between people. I'm great at setting up "friend-dates", ie introducing surfers to each other and knowing who's gonna absolutely LOVE hanging out with/surfing with/hosting who. Sometimes it's all by accident and sometimes I do it intentionally. Either way, I like helping people make new friends. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfers have saved my life on more than 3 or 4 or 10 occasions.

Interests

All things outdoors. (Hiking, biking, backpacking, snowboarding, kayaking, rafting, camping, you get the idea...)

Singing, dancing, laughing, finding joy in each moment, appreciating life, learning, teaching, loving.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have always thought of the music I listen to as sort of the soundtrack to my life, so it's very much whatever fits my mood at the moment. I've found music from basically every genre that I like (or can at least appreciate). My staples, however, tend to be folk/acoustic-based. My two all-time favorites are Ani DiFranco and Bob Dylan.
Movies- I love dark comedies, satires, and mock-umentaries (Donnie Darko, The Royal Tenenbaums, Little Miss Sunshine, Best in Show, Princess Bride, Clue, etc). I've also become somewhat addicted to documentaries lately.
Books- I have to admit that I've never been much of a reader, but I'm working on it...

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn and to teach! I am willing to teach anything I might have to offer- from snowboarding lessons to life lessons- I'm no expert at either, but I'm more than happy to share what I've learned with anyone who's interested.

Personally, I am a human sponge; Whatever anyone else has to teach, I will gladly soak it up. I'm very interested right now in learning more about sustainable energy technology and hydroponic growing.
