Músicas, Filmes e Livros

Music: Eclectic - The Fall, Joy Division, The Smiths, Leonard Cohen, Django Reinhardt, The Sugarcubes, Happy Mondays, Early R.E.M., Primal Scream, Tom Waits, Lisa O'Neill and Hannigan, Miles Davis, The Quintet, Satie, Battles and anything experimental.

Books: Crash or anything else by JG Ballard, Everything by Elizabeth Bishop, Dubliners, Baudrillard, Stewart Lee. Judith Kerr's Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit makes me a language-hungry juvenile. The short stories of all and sundry, particularly JD Salinger and Claire Keegan. I'm getting into comics and Fun Home by Alison Bechdel is one of the best books I've ever come across.

Films: Moon, Everything by Wes Anderson. I am developing an unexpected passion for Oskar Werner thanks to Francois Truffaut. The raunch of Ken Russel (The Devils and Salome's Last Dance). Man on Wire. Indiana Jones, I am without prejudice (I'll be partaking in his adventures one of these days) Hitchcock, Noir, The Third Man and All of the Orson Welles. Peter O'Toole is a force as Henry II. I'll watch anything and will snark uncontrollably if something truly bad crops up.

I love the theatre too, especially Beckett and whatever else I happen upon - saw a wonderful She Stoops to Conquer in the Abbey. Let's not forget radio/podcasts Wireless Nights with Jarvis Cocker, as well as a Desert Island Discs and Just a Minute junkie.

Oh food, yeah - I've had that and I certainly would like some more. At the moment I'm impressing myself with a steady omelette improvement. I like to bake and am teaching myself according to whatever's appropriate to each season.
