About Me

CURRENT MISSION

re-settle into 9-5 life and make the monotony enjoyable!

ABOUT ME

summer 2010 i finally made a much anticipated trek across canada alone. it was incredible!!! i wwoofed, couch surfed, stayed with friends, explored and drove a lot.
since then, i've stayed put and worked, got married to a wonderful man and now we're planning a trip to Australia and New Zealand.
i love art, creativity and people. i paint, make jewellery, am playing at wildcrafting and making my own teas, occasionally write, pick up odd hobbies now and then, looooove nature and watching things (ie. bugs), am fascinated by humanity: love, death; quirks and oddities. i have my Permaculture Design Certificate and would LOVE to have my own smallscale organic farm. i like it when wind plays with my hair, but i dont really like it when other people do. i prefer silly, awkward folk to high intellectuals...unless the intellectuals have lisps and obsessions like taxidermy.
i like adventures. i like wearing wellies in bogs to search for frogs.
i am a light sleeper.
i wear earplugs often.
i dont like it at all when drivers drive slowly in the passing lane.
i find mental health fascinating.
i love organization and paperwork. i have only once lost my keys and it was because my boyfriend put them on my shelf, rather than where i always put them.
i am a fan of most things to do with anti-waste, solar panels, composting toilets, sustainability, recycling, composting, etc etc. i prefer glass to plastic; reusable to disposable; small business to big corporation. i want to live as naturally and organically as possible.
i only snore when i'm sick. typos/misspellings are a pet peeve of mine ;).
i enjoy smiling.

PHILOSOPHY

be cautious when labelling something with a definite "good" or "bad" title; yet be free flowing with flexible opinions.
also, hug and smile lots. they're a nicer type of contagious than sneezes.
be nice to people. but not so nice your backbone is a gummy worm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

on march of 2013 i hope to couchsurf in Australia and New Zealand with my husband!
summer 2010, i traveled across Canada alone and spent many nights on host's couches, spare beds and futons. i have returned the favour when i can. i am always been available for coffee/tea/show you around town! unfortunately my couch is not - i do not live in a surfer friendly suite at the moment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

my experiences have been quite amazing. i have really enjoyed each place i've stayed, for one reason or another. i love meeting all the different personalities with their different views on life, environment, spirituality and so on. i've had so many thought provoking and rich conversations. there is a great vibe of hospitality and openness amoung the couch surfing community which creates the perfect environment for good communion and conversation. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1.in California a few years back, I stood on a balcony facing the ocean watching some seals. soon a pod of dolphins swam by and lingered awhile until a few hundred yards out, a grey whale surfaced with a baby by her side! the seals didnt get too close, by the dolphins swam around the whale and it seemed to me that they were all celebrating :).
2.i drove across canada by myself after dreaming about it for years!
