About Me

I'm an easy going guy. Sometimes I'm too loud, sometimes I won't talk at all. I drink but don't smoke, I swear occasionally but keep my language clean when I need to (around nuns etc..), I'm good at frisbee but I can't make balloon animals or juggle. I still try, which is the important thing.

Always open to new experiences, that old bucket list keeps getting longer and longer.

Like a shark, you've got to keep moving! You've got to move your body, expand your horizons, train your brain, keep your opinions open to change, and of course.... try all the beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Whenever I'm travelling I will try and stay with or at least meet with someone from CS. Travel has been limited in the last few years, but the opportunities always arise.

I've only couchsurfed a few times so far, each time has been a great experience - I made some new friends and I enjoyed my time so much!

Interests

Oh man, listing interests is too hard. I'm interested in too many things, and often all at the same time.

  • animals
  • books
  • drinking
  • traveling
  • juggling
  • music
  • surfing
  • rugby
  • eating
  • techno
  • moving

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm always keen to see new movies, in English or otherwise.

Books, I rarely sit still long enough to read books but I've usually got one on the go.

Music, I'll listen to pretty much anything if you give me a good enough reason to. Punk to folk, rock to pop, indie to techno, country to breakbeat, house to rap... and back again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Certainly the most amazing thing to happen to me in my life has been a three-month trip in Australia when I was a fresh-faced 19 year old.

I was immediately removed from my comfort zone and I transformed into a different person almost overnight.
I positively enjoyed every single second of my first real independent trip abroad. That one trip made me realise how much fun you could have exploring the world and talking to people from all walks of life. Now there's no turning back!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm certainly more of a student than a teacher. I've been described as wise, and I've also been described as an idiot. So I'm obviously good at giving advice, but I'm in need of plenty myself :D

Being over 40 now means that I've had a relatively long time here on this planet to figure some things out. I still don't understand Tiktok.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully I can share my experiences with my hosts in the hope of exchanging a little bit of information about this world, from the perspective of a pale Welsh guy who loves adventure. I can also bring beer, if that's too much hard work :D
