About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel across the US and Canada for the next 6 months with my dog in my conversion van.

ABOUT ME

I am an active person who loves the outdoors (camping, tramping), the Arts, and connecting to other people. I am 65 and have survived 2 cancers (Esophageal 2014 and Renal 2015). I do have a restricted diet, due to the removal of my esophagus and half my stomach, but it is never a problem, as I handle all my eating personally. Now I live life with an everyday is a new day to explore and connect philosophy, and do all I can to build a sense of community and cooperation in the world. I can no longer fly, so I am a nomadic soul, sticking to the US and Canada.
PHILOSOPHY

I believe life is about connection...to family, friends and the world around us. I try to be open minded and try new things. I believe the world is a good place, with good people and not as dangerous as the media lead us to believe. I believe that understanding ourselves will open doors to new and exciting experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a history of having guests, but now have sold my home and travel in my van. I will relocate when I figure out where I want to settle in. AZ, UT, NM ? No where cold, as I had my fill in MN.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been unofficially been couch surfing for 26 years and I have met and stayed with many people and had visitors come and stay with me. I biked across New Zealand and Australia in 1997 (and stayed with many people). I have had people from New Zealand, Scotland, Belgium, Australia and France stay with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biked across New Zealand and Australia 1996(hitchhiked across also, 10 years earlier). Saved someone's life...had my live saved...Had multiple near death experiences....That's way more than one.

Teach, Learn, Share

I spent most of my life teaching people to identify and solve problems. I did not solve anyone's problems, but facilitated the process and tried to give them the necessary tools. I believe self knowledge is the key, and may have some insights into opening up that door.
I am well versed in the writings of Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung and am always willing to explore those areas.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What little wisdom I have accumulated. Willing to help with projects around the home. I am pretty handy and carry some tools. A super smart dog to play with.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, France, French Polynesia, Mexico, New Zealand, Scotland, United Kingdom, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
