About Me
I was born in asmall village Higabiro Rubuguri town aplace of discovery where Biodiversity meets culture .I grow up doing doing subsistence farming along the boundary of the majestic Bwindi Impenetrable Forest that habiurs more than half of mountain Gorillas. In the beginning before 1991 before it was gazzated as anational park it was agranary of food thats to see Meat ,, vegetables and fruits all free for us ,Activities that were carried by then were Hunting Making snares, mining, lumbering, which attracted foreigners in this immense business. Later when it was made anational park all these activities were abandoned, later hunters turned to poachers and our family had more dogs we would
go there illegally and kill these animals for food such animals included Duikers, bushbacks, wathog, wild pigs ,Just I rember when amember was caught by armed many would be fined,or taken to prison, as away to protect wild life.Gorillas were not hunted as they were regarded as bad Omen and our close relatives due to their genes in common with man about 96.4 % of human genes. But some would fall in the traps, snares and die especially the young ones, when MountainGorilla tracking experience was open in our area ,peoples happiness was restored,The Uganda wildlife Authority invited many NGOs such as IGCP,BMCT,WWF AWF and encouraged them to work with both UWA and the community both in conservation and proects by improving the livelihood of the peopl. Many CBOs e.g Nkuringo cultural centre, NCDF,(Nkuringo conservation development foundation) and many started ,schools were built, employment opportunities were created and we had to go to schools ,the Percentage of students in schools doubled,
I was later trained in Guiding ,forest restoration , Climate change Reformation of poachers, worked as a Cordinator of Nkuringo cultural centre, support staff and porter of UWA with Bwindi Impenetrable National park. now I have vast experience and expertise in community projects ,wildlife ,library and volunteer handling and placements.
