About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live with rhythm and grace, to learn of light and of love, and to spread peace and laughter.

ABOUT ME

Well, I like to think that I am changing constantly.
However...
I like surfing, and writing, and of course traveling. New experiences, places and people. Hopefully one day I will weave these passions into a sustainable style of life.

PHILOSOPHY

When you ask this question of a philosopher...

My personal philosophy is to learn. I believe there is always something new to discover along our path. We get distracted, our eyes on the end goal - whether its our rushed feeling to finish school, land a job, buy a house or car, or our desperate feeling to KNOW already instead of lingering in the learning process, it seems we're all in this roadrunner-on-a-treadmill state, going nowhere.
I stepped off a while ago (sometimes I find myself back on, sadly). There´s something more to life than the one my American culture raised me in.
I travel to try and discover what it is.
Some things I think about:
Interconnectedness between not just all humans, not just all life, but the entirety of existence. And essentially, at the fundamental level of matter, this is true.
Suffering comes through a sense of an ego. We have built this feeling of ¨I¨ around us, from our name to our style. Phrases like ¨how I was raised¨ and ¨the way I am¨ trap us into unchangeable ways of thinking. I believe we all have the power to change, in any moment.
Our own beauty, our own power, capability, strength, importance. Too often governments and religions tell us we are sinful, or weak, or imperfect in some way. I believe we have the ability to become Buddhas, or Christs, or more.
Aqui mismo, ahora mismo... all that exists is the present moment. Only this moment is life.

I believe I will learn more.

Teach, Learn, Share

Say this to the sun at your next sunrise:

Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!
