ABOUT ME

I am 20 years old and I am currently double-degreeing in Political Science and Psychology for my undergraduate at Oklahoma State University. I love learning, wether it be formally in a classroom or informally in any shape or form. I have always loved to read, I enjoy everything from fantasy to biographies to textbooks. My main goal in everything I do is to learn why. Why do people act, say, behave, react, feel and reason the way the day? I love reading people and getting to know them. Others' life stories and cultures amaze me. I am traveling this summer with my best friend and I want to be amazed not only but historical artifacts but by the way other people live their daily lives. I am an outsider coming into their world and I want to know what makes them tick. I'm a very happy person, but also a realist. I know that not everyone makes the right decisions, as no one does, but it is never my place to judge them. I have always been very open-minded because there is no way for me to know what makes someone else happy, and my choices and thoughts should not ever hinder on someone else's happiness.

I would like to couch surf while I am abroad, I love meeting people and would love to one day host people in the same situation as I am now.

I have never couch surfed before but I'm very excited to meet new people during my travels! I hope some people are as open to meeting me as I am them!

I love reading, politices, and understanding the human psyche. I love being a student, not only in the classroom but a student of life. Anywhere that I have the chance to learn something, I take it. One of the main staples in my life is informal counseling, or just being an ear to help my friends and acquaintances through their situations at the time. I love getting to know everyone and in the process I love helping give other perspectives or advice, or just listening to someone try and unravel their problems.

I am a fan of all music, but my favorite band is Muse. I saw them in concert and it was AMAZING! I love going to concerts, about 2 or 3 a month. I really enjoy alternative rock and mellow music some of the bands on my playlist now are: Ghostland Observatory, Incubus, Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, MGMT, Kid Cudi, Slightly Stoopid, Adele, and Phoenix.

I like most every type of movie except horror. A few favorites are I Am Legend, Step Brothers, Inception, 300 and anything with Leonardo da Caprio, Gerard Butler or Will Smith.

My favorite book series of all time, hands down, is Harry Potter. It may be a little young for most but I group up awaiting the next book to come out so I could get it at exactly midnight and see all the movies opening day. Besides J.K. Rowling, Dan Brown is my favorite author. Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" was an amazing book and I definitely recommend it to everyone.

I have never been outside of the United States, but I have seen many beautiful places within its borders. The Grand Canyon in the southwest part of America is so beautiful and awe inspiring. I have parasailed in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida. I have eaten alligator in Louisiana, mussels in Mississippi, and grouper in Florida. I have been to the top of the oldest lighthouse in America and stood looking over Savannah, Georgia. The top of Pike's Peak in New Mexico is so beautiful and so cold! I have four-wheeled in the Rocky Mountians of Colorado. I cannot wait to add Ireland's Cliffs of Moher, Rome's Pantheon, and Paris's Eiffel Tower to this list!

I am a Political Science and Pyschology double degree and I am so excited to learn all about the cultures and political views in all of the countries I visit. Coming from the United States and our two-party system I am so excited to learn all about other countries and their political system. I have a vast knowledge of current and past political events and situations, a long with the reactions to them globally and at home. I am very immersed in my studies of the human mind and the workings of the brain in its entirety when dealing with the psyche.
