About Me

I only host nice people. A thoughtful request will work on me. Your bikini selfies won’t. Read my ENTIRE profile, including "My Home", if you want to stay with me.

ABOUT ME

Closed-minded, hard going, world weary, cynical, insufferable at best. You have been warned! Fully expect me to make fun of you in a brutal way if you have not read my whole profile..

PHILOSOPHY

There's nothing that can't be postponed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I like it. It gives me an opportunity to meet great people.
Plus emails from people I reject are sometimes hilarious, so that's the entertainment factor.

Interests

I'm interested in meeting you. If you're interested in meeting me, of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

I had a book but the hamster ate it and snuffed it. Serves him right the voracious bastard.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I received the following CS request :
"I have a flight ticket to Barcelona from Brussels Charleroi Airport on 1st July at 06:00. And I live in Berlin, I think to come to Brussels one day before on 30th June. Again at 06.00 but to Brussels Airport(not Charleroi)

So I need someone to take me from Brussels airport on 30th June, host me this night or travel with me around city I don't know, didn't come before and leave me to Charleroi Airport untill the morning."

I nearly choked on my drink when I read it. Please send me more!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you not to mix beer and wine but, while this would definitely be good advice, it just wouldn't be fun, would it?

What I Can Share with Hosts

When visiting Brussels:

I would recommend seeing the Grand Place, the Magritte museum, the art nouveau buildings in St. Gilles and Ixelles, Museum of Musical Instruments and comic book museum if you're into that. Skip Atomium if you can, not worth it. See it from the outside maybe if you have the time but it's far from the center.
For beer: Moeder Lambic (both the one in the center and the one in St. Gilles - the second one is better) and pubs around Place Flagey (l'Amere a Boire, le Belga Cafe, Black Sheep). Also place Flagey for nighttime or the Ixelles Cemetery area or the pubs around St. Gery.
Don't forget the fries at Chez Antoine at Place Jourdan. Parque Cinquantenaire is also a very beautiful park nearby.

Have fun in Bxl!
