About Me

I'm an English teacher currently living in a town in Galicia. I'm a pretty social person and love meeting new people. Also, I really like tea. So if you like chatting about tea, I'd love to nerd out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and sharing stories about my life, as well as hearing stories about others' lives. One of my favorite parts of traveling is the people I get to meet. Couchsurfing is a great way to meet people from all over the world.

Interests

My main interests lately are writing (mostly fiction, but also creative non-fiction), playing music (trumpet, piano, ukulele, singing), and learning languages (currently improving my Spanish, as well as learning Japanese and German). Some of my other interests include reading (especially history and fiction), computer programming, video games, listening to music, anime, manga, and comics. I also work hard to master the art of internet snarkiness, and would say, with some arrogance, that I've done pretty well for myself. Also, I like people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled through the south of Chile (Patagonia, Chiloé) with a bag including clothes, a netbook, and a pocket trumpet. I played with a street band for an hour or so, which was awesome, and otherwise just wandered.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak Spanish fluently, having lived in both Chile and Galicia. I'd be happy to talk about languages (whether I speak them or not), or discuss music, writing, history, you name it. Also, I have quite a few stories about my life that I'd love to share in exchange for some of yours. Hit me up!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have lots of stories to share. Do you want to hear about my travels in Chile? Or how I ended up living in a tent in Oakland, California for 3 months? Or about my time living at a Tibetan Buddhist retreat center? Or about my time working in city government? Just ask! I'm also not a bad cook.
