About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To share my passion for travel with anyone and everyone!

ABOUT ME

I started work when I was young, following the system ticking all the right boxes. Before I went traveling everything was great, good place, great job, lots of friends and family at home, loads of materialistic crap. Finally I thought if I don't go traveling while I'm young I'll strongly regret it when I'm older. So I dropped everything, sold everything and left...
My travels have completely revolutionized my life. Changed me in a way I never thought possible. Meeting people of the world and sharing amazing company, stories and places is what drives me.
I enjoy peaceful nature, but also going out to a nice place for dinner.

Now I'm back!!! in Canada. I spent 2 months crossing my own country rediscovering it and meeting up with so many of the great people I met around the world and more new great people!!(summer 2012) Spent sometime back in Calgary trying to figure out whats next, saving money, paying off debts, dealing with reverse culture shock, and catching up with old life that just wasn't the same. I had a great chance to go on a few magnificent road trips with some great Canadians I met while traveling. This past summer(2013) I took a job I've always wanted working as a tour guide in eastern Canada. It's been absolutely amazing the places I've gone and the people I've met. Given me a true appreciation for how lucky I am to live in such a great country filled with good people and gorgeous places. Now I'm onto the next step, be that hit the world again, or try for something more serious. I don't have any immediate plans but I'm still young and have all the freedom anyone could ever ask for. Whatever I do I hope I can keep meeting great people.

UPDATE:Spring 2014
So I've spent 2 years now back since traveling. I have had a few smaller trips while working hard and paying of debts, while at the same time trying to figure out if I want to maintain my nomadic lifestyle or start working towards something bigger.
After working my last job for the past 6 months, I know im not ready to make such a career commitment in my life yet so im going traveling again! This summer im taking my old Cadillac on a great American roadtrip, even if I have to go alone! Driving down from Canada through some national parks to LA and then back up the west coast.
The real adventure starts in August, me and my GF are going to travel all over europe before crossing the world for a new job I got in Japan as a welcome guide for a ski resort. I cannot wait to get back to Europe! See great friends, gorgeous new places and hopefuly meet some great new people. Hope to meet YOU soon :)

I do what I WANT to do, not what I'm SUPPOSED to do.
I drive a goofy old Cadillac, love my vintage velvet jackets, and enjoy wearing flags as capes...

I'm always trying to convince people to live their lives the same way, you just end up with so much more happiness. I used to think I need to work my butt off so I can create something or be super successful to make my impact on the world but after being in so many places with so many different kinds of people I know all I want to help others make the most of their own lives.

One day when I more or less settle down I want to open a hostel in the Canadian Rockies. A small place just for travelers to share stories and have good times. I promise an awesome free breakfast with endless maple syrup!

PHILOSOPHY

"Why tiptoe through life to safely arrive at death"
"If everyone just travelled a little more the world would be a better place" - my own
Your life is yours, dont forget it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Met some cool Couchsurfers at local meetings. Met great people here and there and share the ideas of what I think couchsurfing should be about. Not just a free place to stay but a chance to meet someone new and maybe have a life changing experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in Ukraine, Russia, China, and now in Canada too! Just once while I briefly had a place I hosted in Calgary

Interests

I live for traveling. I feel like I could keep going forever. I love helping other people max out their traveling experience, if I can help them with a train, save them $10 on a bus or steer them on the greatest adventure of their life it makes me so happy.
Cars, Snowboarding, Music, pubs/bars, traveling, great food, people.
I love riding in trains. Anywhere for any amount of time, a massive passion of mine. I hope to ride many more in many places.

"Yaniv - A popular card game amongst travelers" And Ive taught my slightly modified version to at least 150 people so far!! Everyone i meet must learn so they can teach others! :D
