About Me

We want to travel as much as we can, taste every culture and (optionally) find out where we belong. Not interested in being conventional and travelling to holiday resorts, we want to spend our time with locals, have real conversations and see what every place actually feels like in real life, not according to guidebooks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Started in 2011 and went to a few CS meetings in Bucharest, where we met loads of interesting people. After moving to the UK that same year, started hosting people every now and then. Finally bit the bullet and had our first couchsurfing trip in Spain in 2015 - and now it's difficult to imagine travelling any other way.

So far, we've hosted people from: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, and United States.

We've surfed in: Austria, England, Italy, Scotland, and Spain.

Interests

Travel and taste new things.

Travel anywhere, not necessarily with a direction. Taste new ways of life, new rhythms and - last, but not least - every type of food this world has to offer.

  • culture
  • round-the-world travel
  • budget travel
  • escaping the mundane
  • experimenting with new cuisines

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite bands: Massive Attack, Portishead, Morcheeba, Robin and the Backstabbers.

Favourite films: Oldboy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club, American Psycho, and about a hundred others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(Costin) I was lucky enough to get the chance to trek through the Andes in Peru and felt that this is how people should live, instead of spending the majority of their lives in grey cubicle offices, aiming to be the overachievers that earn their bosses a ton of money and end up dying of a heart attack.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Towels, bedding, food (if there's any in the fridge) and advice on where to go and not to go.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, Cuba, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In

Romania, United Kingdom
