About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the coolest places; eat the best food
ABOUT ME
I have lived all over the United States. I studied political science in college with a focus on Japan and Asia, and I enjoy traveling and meeting new people. I like to stay busy, try new things, help others, and be the best person I can. I have a very supportive family and a number of great friends and mentors in my life.
PHILOSOPHY
I am a religious person with theological convictions and try to orient myself towards virtue and service through my professional and personal life.
If you break the chains of oppression,
If you set the prisoner free;
If you share your bread with the hungry,
Give protection to the lost;
Give shelter to the homeless,
Clothe the naked in your midst,
Then your light shall break forth like the dawn.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to meet new people for coffee/dining and seeing local sights. I normally will stay in a hotel, although I have done hostels and others' couches/floors in the past. Due to my type of employment, I cannot host but could help if someone would like to visit the area.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been able to meet a number of very cool people in Southeast Asia and home in the US, and I hope to have more experiences with CS in the near future. They have been awesome in learning about local areas and sharing their stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Japan, getting a private tour of Kimiidera temple in Wakayama with the head priest and sitting where the provincial shogun would sit overlooking his castle following prayers near Kannon-sama. Also, spreading ashes and praying for a friend at Bandoko garden. Playing DDR at the Sega Arcade in Akihabara too.
In the Philippines, seeing Madama Butterfly and the city life in Manila, visiting Taal, and scuba diving the reefs and dancing in Boracay. Also, having a White Russian with a white Russian.
In Brunei, visiting the jungles to see the animals, scuba diving, and visiting the Sultan's mosques and museums.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have spent many years studying leadership theory in the uniformed service and have held a number of strategic and organizational leadership positions in the service and philanthropic organizations. I would be happy to share anything related to that.
I also have been a vocal percussionist (beatboxer) for many years, performing with a nationally acclaimed a cappella group, performing for the President of the United States, First Lady, at America’s Got Talent at the semi-finals, and thousands of distinguished visitors and people across the country in that capacity; I would be more than happy to give a beatboxing lesson.
