About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Happiness through family, friends, traveling, exploring, outdoors, music!

ABOUT ME

Boulder-local with a New Mexican heart!

I strive for discipline, creativity, and new forms of self-expression. Easier said then done. Talk with me!

PHILOSOPHY

The truth about stories is that is all we are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Trying to couchsurf more often, and our household in Boulder has already had a fair number of visitors!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My only "surf" so far was up in Toronto during the summer of 2007. This past year, my roommates and I had over 10-15 different groups of people and individuals come stay over at our place in Boulder! We're loving all the company!

Interests

Being Cody! For me, that entails all sorts of things. I love performing, practicing, and studying music in numerous disciplines of jazz, pop, and electronic music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of the more influential artists in my life:
-Elliott Smith
-Broken Social Scene
-J.J. Johnson
-John Coltrane
-Ben Folds
-Toro y Moi
-Mos Def
-Shad

I love reading Bret Easton Ellis.

Movies I probably could watch over and over and over:
-Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
-The Fifth Element
-Smoke Signals
-Not Another Teen Movie
-Goodfellas

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done the whole solo journey across the United States one summer. Driving 8 hours a day seemed like something fun for a while, but I got super tired by the end!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot of my own Jicarilla Apache and Keeweenaw Ojibwe culture to share with the entire world. I feel that the opportunity they have given me in my life to study my passions in music, graphic arts, and community outreach has been more then I could have ever asked in my entire life, and in a world with a vital need of cultural variety and appreciation, I want to express these parts of my Native American heritage in challenging and redefining expressions. Knowing my own people and being the best person I can be from my own tribes will further redefine how others shall see my people, and I want people to understand not only my own tribes, but for the Native American tribes around the country.
