ABOUT ME

Hi there!

My name is Camille, I'm 27 and I'm a librarian. I haven't traveled much recently but a few years ago i went on an exchange in Canada for 9 months. It was an incredible experience, I met amazing people not only at my university but also while traveling: I got to visit Toronto, New-York, Montreal, and Washington DC with some friends, and I also went all the way to Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco during christmas break and again to Boston with my mom when my exams were over!

After studying psychology for 3 years, I studied to become a librarian, which I think was the first job I wanted to do when I was a kid, even if I changed my mind a few time between then and now ;) I've now been working as a librarian for a few years and i love it!

I love travelling (obviously!), watching movies and tv shows, going to concerts, and I spend waaaay too much time on the internet.

I'm quite an introvert, I don't really like to party, but I like meeting new people, hearing their stories, and discovering new places, which is why I'm couchsurfing !

Also I love food, and I have to admit that trying all sorts of food from all over the world is probably my favorite thing to do while traveling... yummy! I've recently quit eating meat though (Cowspiracy is quite a convincing documentary...) but i hope it won't keep me from enjoying exploring new countries.

PHILOSOPHY

I think it's important to enjoy whatever I have and always try to find the positive side of every experience. Also I try not to regret anything I've done and try everything I can so that I don't regret not doing it !

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't host right now because I lack space and time, so I'm only surfing... :( but i hope to be able to host someday!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed once in New-York and once in Montreal, met great people and had a great time both times and I hope to meet many more! =D

Couchsurfing is an amazing way to meetsome really cool people, and so much better than travelling in hostels/hotels! People always have much better answers to your questions about their city/country compared to wikipedia ;P

Interests

I read lots of comics and various books, and watch a ton of tv shows too! I love going to concerts, visiting new places, trying new foods... And i'm always open to new experiences :)

I also started working out a few months ago and i really enjoy running !

Music : Green Day, Beyoncé, Elvis Presley, Edith Piaf, Babyshambles, Fall Out Boy, Kasabian, Linkin Park, The Ramones...

Movies : The Avengers, Mr Nobody, The Boat That Rocked, Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, Into The Wild (it makes me want to do the same thing every time I see it... I hope someday I get to travel like that too !), American Beauty, Lord of The Rings, The Boat That Rocked...

Books : Harry Potter, A Song of Ice and Fire... I also read a lot of comic books (mostly Marvel, barely any DC, and some others), my favorites being Ms Marvel, Bitch Planet and Lumberjanes :)

I'm currently reading Game of Thrones again. (I wanted to finish re-reading the whole series before the last season of the show came out but I wasn't fast enough...)

TV : Game of Thrones, Community (the first few seasons anyway), The Good Place, The Handmaid's Tale, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, How to Get Away with Murder and a lot more !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time I went to New York City was when I was going to California by bus with some friends. We were there in the middle of the night and we had a few hours to spend before our next bus so we decided to walk around and take a look at the city and it was amazing ! It was 3 or 4 am so we saw Times Square completely empty, we saw the christmas tree next to the Rockefeller Center, and we just kept looking up at all those huge skyscrappers, it was an incredible experience !

Teach, Learn, Share

I can speak French so I can try and teach you if you'd like to learn, and I really like learning other languages so please teach me a bit of yours !
I can juggle with 3 balls so I can try to teach you that too, but it mostly takes a lot of practice...
I can also cook a little, I love making cookies and cakes and I'm always interested in learning how to make new dishes :)
