Overview
About Me
I love my newly adopted home--Portland, ME--where I ride my bicycle, sip local brews, make jokes and very bizarre theater, and revel in the outdoors.
My nostalgia for the classroom has fueled my desire to learn and be challenged by new ideas, places, and people. I enjoy feminist critiques of pop culture, other people's dogs, a really great article or two, cooking while listening to podcasts, and learning from people who are different than I am. I also love to share recipes and jokes, and to listen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Even though it's been a few years since I've really traveled for pleasure and needed the resource of couch surfing, every experience I've had has been beautiful and bizarre. Hoping to see Asheville through the eyes of a local this September.
I've only couch surfed once before--in Togo. it was a fabulous opportunity to experience Lome from someone who lived and worked in the city, and a definitive part of my trip.
The last time I hosted, my couch surfer and I hung out for 4 days during a freak hurricane and we had a great time. I hope to be able to host Portland wanderers soon!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Whenever asked, I always share my most memorable travel moment-- A 7 mile, near vertical climb to the village, Wlitodzi, in the Volta Region of Ghana. The climb was memorable, I have never sweat so much in my life, but so too the people and community I was lucky to be welcome into for those few short days.
