ABOUT ME

Warm nostalgia for wanderlust adventures opens my doors (and couch) to all. I am currently living in Portland, Oregon working on redefining what education can mean to a community. I run a non-profit (cadacasa.com) and currently trying out the whole front-lines, public education thing. I teach two-way immersion Spanish and Science, which is pretty great.

I enjoy a simple life, preparing and eating good food, the outdoors (surfing, snowboarding, soccer, hiking, cycling, etc.), art, and meeting new people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I find myself very welcoming to strangers, especially the adventuring type. Learning from my mother, and warm-hearted Costa Ricans I take great pleasure in providing a hand, a ride, a couch, a job or a conversation to anyone new passing through. That’s why I am on couch-surfing, so people can have an easy road to assimilation, or at least a couch to crash on while visiting Bend.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

the first couchsurfer i hosted was not through couchsurfing.com, but co-creator Jim crashed at my place in Bend and explained the concept. Sense, I have hosted a few surfers, and have surfed in the US, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. All have been AMAZING experiences, and I love the community.

All types of music and food. Speaking Spanish as much as possible, art, film, literature, outdoors. Did I mention new, exotic, and good food? I love to cook, and will try anything at least twice.
