About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To understand humans and the world!
(you can find more about me on my home page: https://cadelllast.com and also on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCtCqYQFPhnU1OnHPveEnYw?)
ABOUT ME
I am an easy going guy that loves learning, good conversation, travel, music, art, food, adventure, and generally experiencing new things. I grew up in southern Ontario (Canada), and didn't get to travel very much as a kid, but as soon as I had a little extra income I've used it to explore, and I haven't looked back since! I've travelled throughout North America, Europe, and West Africa. I try and travel at least once a year and I hope I never lose my passion to see the world.
PHILOSOPHY
Love humanity and our planet. Live for your dreams.
"Connecting with people. Looking back, that's all that really mattered." (Waking Life)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been involved with Couchsurfing for a little over a year. I've mostly hosted, but have also used the service myself in London. I love meeting new people and love the idea that I can help people see the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few people in Toronto, and now in Brussels as well. If my schedule and situation permits it, I am usually open to helping people out with Couchsurfing.

(my favourite album at the moment: Carrie and Lowell by Sufjan Stevens)
Books: mostly non-fiction... anything about science, anthropology, and history.
(my favourite book at the moment: Zizek, S. 2012. Less Than Nothing: Hegel and the Shadow of Dialectical Materialism)
Movies: I love great science fiction movies, or any movie that makes you think.
(my favourite movie at the moment: Her)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think the most amazing personal experiences were my trips to Cameroon to study chimpanzees and gorillas. I spent a few months in the rainforests of West Africa, got to hang out in chimp nests and collect data on our closest relatives for my academic research. I met some fantastic people and made stories that will last a lifetime.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am an evolutionary theorist and philosopher. Let's just talk about the world! I love having interesting conversations about evolution, technology, space, and the future! Always happy to share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
a place to sleep, conversation, tea, a tour guide (maybe)
