About Me

Hello!

My name is Carlos Eduardo Braga, but my friends call me Cadu! So, if you feel comfortable, you can call me Cadu as well! :)

I’m a brazilian student of Graphic Design, but I’m also graduated in Biology and I know a little bit about plants! I’m from Belo Horizonte, a city in Southeast of Brazil, close to Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. I’m now living in Milan, Italy, as an exchange student at Politecnico di Milano for one year (until August 2015).

This is my first time abroad and it was always a dream to know Europe and all the diversity here: culture, music, fashion, architecture, personal relationship, gastronomy and everything else that there is to learn and know about.
I’m a very curious person and I think that what makes us even better is know people and enjoy everything they can offer, such as experiences, feelings, friendship and whatever else that can help me become better person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that Couchsurfing provides an amazing possibility to know better about the habits and culture of the citizens and country. So it is extremely valuable to have a more personal approach, to exchange closer experiences and to offer/receive a different view from a trip (other than what touristic guides can offer).

As a SURFER, I try to give as much as I can about the things I know (like Brazilian and Italian cultures) and I always try to make my stay as smooth and pleasant as possible for my HOST.

And as a HOST, I try to make the person's stay as interesting as I can, showing interesting places and people I know! I don't agree with the idea that the SURFER should provide something in return (like help cleaning house, gardening, offering wines and beers and stuff like that).

I see Couchsurfing as an alternative to this world we live in that we have to deserve and/or pay for stuff. I see it as an act of generosity that makes us even more human, and that's what is most valuable to me!

XD

Interests

I basically like almost everything different! Theatre, movies, books, music, parks, being with friends, making new friends, chat, laughs, beer, wine and cheeses!

I love to learn and exchange things: new musics, movies recommendations, recipes, cooking tips, curiosities and so…

And as I love my country, whoever wants to learn anything about Brazil, just let me know! ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I’ve ever done was go to Istanbul, Turkey. To live some days in a city that, although it is very influenced by american culture, host so many different cultures at the same time, people from different nationalities, different languages and different religions was incredible! A city that lives between middle-eastern and western cultures, with so many political issues, between modernity and strong cultural roots, between craftworks and design exhibitions... I just fell in love by Istanbul and its wonderful culture, people and landscapes…

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I think that what I can offer is a good chat, a company and a good mood! :P
