About Me

I love climbing, indoor and outdoor, and I also love to visit the beach. I hope to get a lot of both in my upcoming travel to Europe! I plan to visit Sweden, France, Spain, and Iceland. I especially can't wait to spend time in Cassis, which appears to have both incredible climbing and beautiful beaches!

I am currently living in near San Francisco, California, although I grew up on Maui, where I surfed, windsurfed and kitesurfed all the time. I love my job at Diablo Rock Gym, but it's great to get outside when I'm off! I love the hiking that California has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an obvious way to save money, but I really hope to get a personal connection with my hosts and get insights to the areas I'm visiting that I might not get otherwise. Above all, I want to make friends and have a great time in a place that's new to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to listen to Bon Iver, Banks, Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, and Beyonce, but I feel that I'm always finding new favorites. I like most types of music!

Right now I'm reading The Alchemist, but I've been so busy, I've been "reading" it for months (oops). I hope to trade it for a new book when I'm finished with it.

I love to watch The Great British Baking Show on Netflix. Arrested Development is one of my all-time favorite shows. I cry every time I watch Greys Anatomy but I love it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first outdoor climbing experience was in Yosemite with Hans Florine. It was a four-pitch 5.8 (5a) route over Tenaya Lake called Hermaphrodite Flake. But I'm more amazed that I am planning a trip to Europe by myself. It's not something I ever saw myself doing and I hope to gain some independence from it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you want to go climbing together, I have gear and knowledge. Unfortunately, I can't travel with a bouldering pad but if you have one, I've got your spot!

I love to help in the kitchen and I always clean up after myself. I'd love to share some recipes! :)
