Inform and learn about good travelling places, stay with and meet people, host surfers. Have fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed [before couchsurfing.org existed] with a group of students in Dunedin, New Zealand over their Easter break. There were four girls: Fleur Dur, Bridget aka Nandor, Amy, and Megan. Bridget won a free grocery grab from a radio station promotion, (that is thirty seconds to run through the store and fill your cart with whatever you could), and we were bound to train for this momentous event. Amy was her substitute as she was too shy to do it. So Amy quit smoking for a few hours, she practiced grabbing things and we went to the store for a dry run. They ended up with lots of juice and a turkey as I remember. We had an Easter dinner. I laughed so hard I cried and was caught on tape through the whole grocery store run.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Hiked solo for three days into the Tonquin Valley near Jasper, Alberta, Canada. Saw a grizzly bear, moose and a caribou. Reflected by the water of a glacier lake, wrote in my journal. The cool solidity of the Rampart range of mountains and the blue clear sky are forever a memory of my adventure. No bugs either, since it was fall.

I can: cook, sew, write, edit, swing a hammer, paint a house, make cob buildings, take pictures with a manual 35mm, teach English or music or skiing, gardening/landscaping, serve food, organize, handle phone calls, drive.
