ABOUT ME

I'm not-so-typical Finn, as (opposed to the stereotype) I'm talkative and über-social! But be warned, I like an ice-cold vodka shot every now and then...

I've met new people here and there, even though I haven't travelled that much that I really, really, really wanted to. This is something I'm going to change - with the help of CS of course :)

I'm nerdish/geekish with a funny real-life twist. I'm quite compact, one would say. I have a habit of making bad jokes. If you didn't understand what I was saying, I probably tried to make a joke there...

My current plan is to work in Utrecht and live in Amsterdam with my girlfriend. The work is fine and I have nice colleagues, not to mention all the great people I've met also through CS. What future holds for me... well that's something to find out! :)

I've been around for few years already and had a 1,5 years stint in Stockholm, too. There is still a lot to see and lot to learn and a lot to experience! If you are coming to Amsterdam and don't know what to do, go and visit the Saturday official CS meeting. It's a nice way to spend your evening when you don't have any particular plans - and even when you have! :D

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate the regular CS meetings here in Amsterdam every now and then. Let it be the Saturday meeting (very, very, VERY recommendable), Sunday Comedy Cafe meetings (definitely worth visiting!), Thursday language sessions, random sauna meetings – or even organize my own meeting whenever feeling like one :-D

I can show around the city of Amsterdam or anything nearby. And possibly lend my couch for people needing a place to stay. There's something bubbling here always!

Currently I'm all into different cultural (and non-cultural and counter-cultural etc-cultural etc.) things in Netherlands! And the people - CS is sooo good way to meet interesting new people and have lots of interesting conversations, too!

As being sooo multi-attracted person it's difficult to mention everything in detail, so I try to be short in my description...

Movies:
- SciFi, Fantasy
- Crazy comedies
- Could-be-true Dramas (everything from war to philosophy)
- Indie

Music:
- My first love of all: punk rock. Yay and oi!
- Live music in (almost) any format, style and category!
- Music with Attitude (notice the capital A)
- Electric guitars with distortion (you never go wrong with that!)
- And a new discovery for myself: trance!
- Last but not the least: I'd love to wake up my old hobby of singing in a band. Although I suck in it big time. But I love it! Anybody in need of a really bad wannabe-punk-rock-finnish-ballads-singer?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing thing ever was my little sister's first born baby at the age of 3,5 hours!

The other one I could perhaps add here is the firewalk I did couple of a years ago.

Communicating with other people teaches one the most – learning is shared to all of the participants! :-D
