About Me

I started a brewery with a business partner two years ago, and things are going slowly but we are starting to get some notoriety in the local brewing scene. Starting a brewery takes up a lot of time, and the fruit of our labor is not immediate, but we will get there. The plan is to open a brewpub here in Monterrey in April.

I also started teaching at a local Uni 1 year ago, teaching Climate Change and Energy Use, and Material Balance, two introductory courses for engineers. Being a teacher is FUN but also challenging. I really enjoy what I do, even if it's very time consuming.

My CD and vinyl collection is vast, I like collecting physical music formats. Back in the day I became a fan of music through the metal scene and ever since then I've been to many great concerts all around the world. Nowadays my musical taste is somewhat diverse, I'd really love to host or stay with someone keen on talking about bands (see the 'Music' section for more info). Finally, you could say I am very good at keeping in touch with old friends, specially as years pass by.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to the CS experience through my hosts in Iceland (spring of 2009), I was amazed at the hospitality of previous strangers, so I promised myself to return the favor to other people. I was relatively involved while I lived in Houston, the busy student life kept me away from CS activities while in England. At the moment I don't live in my own home so I can't host surfers.

Interests

I love going to concerts, although these days there are not a lot bands that I like that come to Monterrey. But I've gone to a lot of shows, specially when I was living in Washington state. I like riding my bike a lot, and try to go on long rides when I have the time. I'm also fond of going to museums (fan of contemporary art). When I can I go hiking to some of the mountains in town, and to release stress I go for a run in a park close to my house.
