About Me
The following text is the original text from 2009 I think. I'm still as socially awkward but a lot older and calmer!
ABOUT ME
Well, a friend once described me as "socially awkward" and everyone else agreed, this was meant as sometimes I can be a lot more open about a lot of subjects that maybe the general population wouldn't, this includes things like burps, hairy knees and hangover poos. I love burping, swearing and I say what I think. I also invented the "Nicky weekend" where I literally spend the whole weekend alone not speaking to other human beings because sometimes I really just need that. on the other hand I do make a while host of Nicky merchandise like calendars and mugs for my closest fans.
I am interested in everything and anything, I want to hear your stories and tell you mine, I don't have a real hobby or anything, I just like going places.
I use the term "cultural experience" to excuse the ridiculous things I do! If you want me to do something nuts and you can convince me it is a "cultural experience" then I will probably do it. This has led to things like dancing on tables at frat parties, putting my head between a drag queens breasts, going to peep shows, taking shots of lots of different kinds of alcohol, jaegerbombs for breakfast, slow dancing with a random dude in a dive bar in the middle of nowhere in Indiana in exchange for $10, pretending to be of a different nationality, getting naked and pressing up against the full length hotel windows in St Louis, getting arrested, dancing in a cage at a frat party......it goes on.
I have actually calmed down a lot now because I take my work seriously and I am also inevitably getting old and boring but you might catch a glimpse of Party Cat sometime. Like twice a year.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't know what the meaning of life is yet. I thought I had it one day but then I forgot.
I think I am moving closer.
In the mean time, I am making big broad plans, letting the details take care of themselves and following my gut.
Although I don't speak Irish, I found the most wonderful saying in Irish...
"Is fánach an áit a gheobfá gliomach" which means "It is in the unexpected place that you will find the lobster"
Isn't that just the most beautiful thing?
I used to travel with my little lobster Myeh, and his story begins in an unexpected place.
If you live in Germany and pretend you are of an unspecified nationality with an unplaceable fake accent and can't speak German or English but smile like a maniac, you can get away with anything and just do whatever the fuck you want all the time. Win.
