My name is Caio, I am brazilian and I live in Portugal since august 2018 for my studies. I am a free spirit who likes to be in movement, to feel alive and part of the world. Since my first solo trip two years ago I get envolved with travels and I discovered this whole world of possibilities, different people, colours, smells and arts present in the most different and incredible parts of the world. I also discovered my fascination for multicultural studies and intercultural dialogue. It seems to me that the human spirit is a amazing thing and I like to understand how different cultures and folks see the world in it´s own way, and how different cultures are connected through things like arts and music.
My interests include literature, history, culture, gastronomie, music (I play piano and accordion), nature, arts... things that connect me to people and the earth.
I once came across a quote by the brittish poet Robert Louis Stevenson, "I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." and I think that it describes the pourposes of my journeys through this amazing world whithout comparison.

I think that there is different levels of travels, and the deepest is to see how people interact with each other and the influence of environment in their lives. I think couchsurfing brings this possibility to interact whith people in a more genuine way.

I like (in general) folk, celtic, world, new age, flamenco, middle east and oriental music. But I am a very open person when it comes to music, I think that it depends on the moment. For movies, my favorite ones for the moment are "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain", "Wild", "Mother", "Get Out" and"Brave". As for litterature, I love Marion Zimmer Bradley´s books, in special "The Mists of Avalon", Shakespeare, W. B. Yeats, Anne Frank's Diary, "Jeanne d'Arc" by Mark Twain....
