About Me

Greetings!

My name is Caio, I am 23 years old and I live in São Paulo, Brazil. I would define myself as an easygoing person, although I can be really shy in the beginning.

Getting a little bit deep in this self description I would say that I am searching for self knowledge. Having grown up in a very sheltering environment (only child, only grandchild and only nephew; so yes, too much attention, haha), I am currently searching ways to get more independent and less unsure. Fortunately, I have discovered that travelling is a great opportunity to open my mind in several perspectives and, therefore, to mature.

With regard to my academic background, I am doing Bachelor in International Relations at the University of São Paulo, and planning to do Master in Anthropology.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since travelling is one of the most important things for me, I really take it very seriously. I tend to look at it through a holistic perspective, which means that travelling doesn't mean only to go to a place, spend sometime there and then return. You really have to see it, smell it, feel it, experience it as much as you can and there is no better way other than knowing locals. The residents are the ones who can actually present you the best places, the less touristic environments , good food, and so on.

Interests

I love to exchange experiences, thoughts, to have interesting discussions, whether of political or cultural content. Since I am very open minded, these discussions can take place in a nice bar, at home, in the street, in a crazy party or in a park.

Regarding my hobbies, I am really fond of volleyball and ballroom dancing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing thing I've done untill now is the exchage program I am doing here in Reims, France. This is the first time that I could experience being away from my parents and living all by myself. I could also meet new people, learn French, travel to a lot of places and study different themes in the host university (Sciences Po). This experience has been extremely significant, both personally and academically.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travelling experiences, features about my culture, teach samba perhaps.

A nice time in a bar, or hanging out wherever it may be.

A frindship, hopefully.

A complete and intriguing walking tour in São Paulo, and if you come when I am able to host you, there is going to be a confortable bed waiting for you :)
