About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel to everywhere, meet everyone and see everything!

ABOUT ME

It's not a easy task to write "all about myself", I'll try but I think or it won't be accurate or it won't be precise. Anyway, I'll do my best. I believe I've some life experience, despite of my age. I'm young, quite healthy, very curious and I enjoy studying and reading. Still, I'm sure that there is more things besides books. I love partying and traveling, and I love meeting new people. I guess I can like a really crazy night as much as I can enjoy a peaceful and quiet one, just having a nice conversation with a interesting stranger, who I hope will become a new friend.

PHILOSOPHY

As I'm in my youth, I know that I should look for stories. It can be personal stories, life, historical or fantastic stories. We are the narratives we leave to the world, so let's abuse it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I can't host right now, although I think I can help some people who need a tourist guide. Belo Horizonte is not much famous for its but tourism, but I'm sure I can show why it's worth to visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I can say my Couchsurfing experience was really positive. The first time was in Amsterdam and I think I wouldn't enjoy the city as much as I had if it had been in a hostel. This made me open to host some people during the World Cup in Brazil, which was a great and unique time as I don't think I'll be seeing foreigners here for a while. Last time I used CS was in Chile, when I made a lot of friends thanks to the site.

Interests

My interests are mostly the humanities: culture, history and politics. I love underground culture as well, rap, graffiti, electro, etc.
I love literature, cinema and photography. I enjoy a lot philosophy and art as well.
I also have a big taste for music, enjoying from Brazilian rap to European classic.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite writer is Jorge Luis Borges. I like a Dostoevsky and Mia Couto too. Right now, I'm starting to read China Mielville, if anyone knows him and want to discuss.
My favorites movie makers are definitely Pablo Larrain, a Chilean director, and Terry Gilliam. But I love Tarantino, Lars von Trier and Lúcia Puezo.
My favorite Brazilian musician is Criolo. International bands that I like are Orishas and Muse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Don't know... maybe any of my backpacking trips I did in my life. Each one holds several great stories, but still I hope they are just the beginning of a long life of travel that awaits for me with even greater tales.
There're another things I've done worth mentioning, but I'll wait to meet face-to-face to tell about them.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a former English teacher, but I can teach Portuguese as well, if anyone is interested. I've given some workshops about photography and cinema too. I can share some techniques to be used with professional cameras or simply smartphones.

Now, if anyone could teach me, I would love to learn how to surf or dance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know how to take pictures and read tarot cards. I always travel with my camera and my deck.
I can ensure you I'm not going to leave without returning with a nice memory.
