About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world through locals' eyes...

ABOUT ME

I am a perpetual student, gathering my knowledge for better, cleaner living from conventional and unconventional sources :) I have lived in Yellowstone National Park, Innsruck Austria and Florida... I'm all set to begin my dream job in Boulder, Colorado in just a couple weeks!

I'm good at a lot of things but not "great" at any particular thing... except I've been told I have a talent for creating awkward situations ...so watch out ;)

I really enjoy cooking -but after working for a local caterer for 5 years, unfortunately I'm best at making 100 different hors d'oeuvres instead of whole meals...

Spontaneity is my middle name

PHILOSOPHY

Kindness is the key!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had AMAZING experiences with CSing all around the world as well as in the US! I have never hosted... but as soon as I have a place of my own I'd love to open it up to "pay it forward"

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only good things to say about the Couch Surfing project! I have CSd in Europe and the US... as long as you're open to try new things.... CS will teach you more than any textbook. And what you learn will be more relevant and fulfilling.... not to mention cheaper...

Interests

Horses, different cultures, cycling, traveling, sports, kayaking, reading, singing (especially in the shower -it's okay to bang on the door and tell me to hush-it!) hiking, knitting, geology\geography, history, pretty much anything outdoorsy... I also enjoy good food, good conversations, good people and sunbathing ^^

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: international artists, pretty much everything, except rap

Books: I am always reading something. My oldest sister and I share silly girly books -gives us something to gossip about because without them there wouldn't be much to gossip about. (A secret obsession of mine is rare books on American history...)

Movies: It's probably easier to tell you what I don't like: weird unrealistic sci-fi movies (although I enjoy Star Wars, The Twilight Zone etc...)

I will watch/read/listen to/eat anything at least once before passing judgment :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went impromptu sky-diving with CS host "Lee"
Worked three months in Yellowstone National Park
Snowboarded in the Austrian Alps
Sunbathed on the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean
Kayak-surfed in the Gulf of Mexico
Rafted down the Nantahala and Salmon rivers
Restored an antique tandem bicycle I found at a thrift store.
Mountain biked at Tsali
Backpacked parts of the Appalachian Trail
Trained\Shown horses for years
Almost fell off the Irish Aran Cliffs.... okay I'm exaggerating a bit...

You can be the most accomplished, well traveled person in the world but without humility and a way to share those experiences it means nothing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Slovenia, Sweden, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
