About Me

CURRENT MISSION

experience as much of the world as possible, and accomplish the things I set out to do

ABOUT ME

I'm calm but engaging, loyal, I love learning new things, and listening to peoples' stories

PHILOSOPHY

I'm going to quote Plato here, at least until I come up with my own way of saying something similar:
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
oh, and this one from everyone's favorite Jedi master:
"Do or do not, there is no try."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have an actual apartment now (hurray!) with zero furniture. But I've got an inflatable air mattress for couch surfers and aspirations of more furniture in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surf. And soon I will host.

Music, Movies, and Books

On music, things are all over the map. They're coming out in pairs for some reason...
some Ulrich Schnauss and Bent remixes. Royksopp and Flunk. Miles Davis and Wynton Marsalis. Alan Hovhaness and Beethoven, Emmylou Harris and some of the quieter Johnny Cash songs. Moby, the Eels, Feist, David Bowie. Deltron 3030 and Janelle Monae's first album. Lady Gaga. All kinds of trashy dance music. And trashy pop music :)

And books- One hundred years of solitude knocked me off my feet for a while.
I also like John Irving, Margaret Atwood, Mary Carr, and Michael Gruber.

Movies are hard. I'll skip those for right now. I certainly watch a lot of them though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Any one of these could go up here but if I had to choose, I'd probably pick the last one-

biked across the Washington Cascades into Idaho
hiked to the rim of a volcano in western Costa Rica
wandered around the streets of Dakar during Eid al-Adha
sat in a Brooklyn basement with old friends, talking until 3AM

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Costa Rica, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Namibia, Russian Federation, Senegal, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
