About Me
Hey there! I’m based in London, where I’m currently training to be a therapist—a new chapter in my journey after years of traveling the world as a journalist. Although my globe-trotting days are on pause, I’m still all about exploring life’s many adventures right here in this incredible city.
When I’m not deep in my studies, you’ll find me soaking up London’s vibrant culture—whether it’s catching a theatre production, gig, or a stand-up comedy show. Swimming is my go-to for relaxation, and I’m always on the lookout for new spots to take a dip.
Politically, I lean left, and I love engaging in thoughtful conversations about the world and the human experience. But don’t worry, I’m just as happy to chat about the latest play, band, or anything else that sparks interest. I also don't want to live in a bubble and am very open to spending time with people who disagree with me politically.
Though I’m not traveling as much these days, I’m passionate about making meaningful connections and sharing stories with people from all walks of life. Whether it’s over a coffee, exploring a new corner of the city, or just exchanging ideas, I’m always up for good company and a great conversation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Im training to be a therapist which is expensive. And I would like to travel solo but still be able to meet people. Couchsurfing is my way of staying connected to the global community, meeting interesting people, and sharing stories. I love making connections and exchanging ideas, so this seems like a good place to start
Interests
To summarise: theatre, cycling, swimming, music, travelling, politics, fashion.
When it comes to music, my taste is eclectic. I’m drawn to the lyrical genius of Bob Dylan, the storytelling of Tracy Chapman, and the haunting melodies of José González. I’m a huge fan of legends like Van Morrison, Stevie Nicks, and Kate Bush, all truly timeless. You’ll also find me listening to Simon and Garfunkel and powerful, folksy anthems like Joan Baez. From indie and jazz to swing, classical, and beyond, music is a constant source of inspiration for me.
I’m a bit of a film and TV buff, with a love for both the epic and the eerie. Gladiator is a favorite, while The Others and Paris, Texas really stayed with me. On the lighter side, I enjoy the sharp wit of Seinfeld and Arrested Development, and I’m hooked on the intense drama and amazing writing of Succession and the supernatural thrills of Stranger Things.
I’m also an avid theatre-goer and have recently seen some incredible productions. Slave Play left a lasting impression with its exploration of race and identity, while The Lehman Trilogy offered a fascinating dive into history and capitalism. I also loved the revival of Dodie Smith’s I Capture the Castle—a nostalgic and beautifully crafted story about a family with a lot of resentment simmering under the surface.
As for books, I’m drawn to stories that explore the depths of human experience. Flaubert’s Sentimental Education is a favorite for its rich character study, and I was deeply moved by Tara Westover’s Educated. I also loved Suite Française (and the film was good too) and am currently diving into the works of Freud and other thinkers as part of my therapy training. I'm not a huge reader but I'm fascinated by storytelling in journalism, music and psychological theory.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m all about creating meaningful connections and sharing experiences. If you’re into music, I’d love to exchange playlists or talk about our favorite artists—I’ve got a pretty diverse taste ranging from Bob Dylan to Kate Bush, and I’m always up for discovering new sounds. We can also chat about films, TV shows, and theatre—whether it’s dissecting the latest episode of Succession or the recent riots in England (political rabbit warren alert!).
As a former travel journalist, I’ve got plenty of stories and tips from my adventures around the world, and I’d be happy to share them. Whether you’re planning your next trip or just love hearing about far-off places, I’ve got plenty of tales to tell.
I’m also currently training to be a therapist, so I’m always up for a deep conversation about life, psychology, or whatever’s on your mind. And if you’re into books, I’d love to discuss literature, especially if you have a soft spot for classics or are interested in the works of Freud and other thinkers.
Lastly, I can bring a bit of London to you—whether it’s sharing stories about my favorite spots in the city or cooking up a simple dish with a British twist. I’m all about good company and great conversation.
