About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to live locally in people’s homes - to not just have experiences that begin and end by meeting backpackers in hostels with similar lives and in similar stages of life to me (as wonderful as that is and I still do this also / & I’m being unfair as often it can be very varied but this is just to emphasise!) & instead mixing this up with people who are from or who have chosen to live in the place I am visiting and are kind enough to host. I think it is very interesting why people would chose to host as it is a very open thing and rare in our society (at least seemingly as people like to state to you - for most people not using platforms like this or hitchhiking) and it is a bit of magic left in travel and the world I believe.
In a more pragmatic sense for this trip I also want to practice my Spanish whilst travelling as I have been learning over the last year so would love to language exchange.

Music, Movies, and Books
Any any any book I love! but especially philosophical ones, foreign novels, Eastern European novels, literature from 18/19th century & American (especially New York) literature from the last century. Love poetry - Mary Oliver when I travel, English nature poetry, Anne Carson, I have an anthology of modern American poems I love love. essentially : whatever I can find in a second hand book shops and my university libraries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
All travel experiences ! Very lucky to have done / be able to do so , all very eventful (even the down days as it is nice to have time to reflect or just think of nothing to regain energy again) , all had some way in shaping me and for that it is all incredible to me :)) (hitchhiking and couchsurfing and wild camping though are always the best ones)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help around the place, happy to cook & clean and (more than) happy to walk dogs or play with animals!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Vegan (attempts at) cooking, a little bit of guitar, i play sports so can offer you a terrible opponent to play against, hiking or biking partner, I love to joke around and also have more serious (but never wholly as humour and interspersed moments of lightness as breaks are very important to me) conversations. :)
