About Me

I am an enthusiastic traveller, interested in adventure and the environment.

I'm a keen runner and climber and like to travel to do these things. Let me know if you've got a marathon you recommend.

I love to cook and would be happy to teach any host some recipes from home, particularly desserts (I do a mean vegan chocolate mousse)!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My husband (Robin) and I have decided to take a career break and travel the world. We would love to meet people from around the world and learn about their cultures and cuisine.

When we return to the UK and have space we would be delighted to return the favour!

Interests

I have been climbing and hiking all my life and love to be in the outdoors and exploring new places. I even hiked up on a hill for a spot of champagne on the morning of my wedding!

If it's raining too hard, however you might find me at home curled up with a book of any genre - basically anything I can get my hands on! I've tried my hand at writing and one day would love to have some of my work published.

I'm currently combining my literary and outdoors passions as a volunteer writer for WomenClimb - a UK-based organisation empowering and supporting women in the outdoors.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love british folk music and adore a good ceilidh to dance along.
I will read anything, but I am particularly partial to a spot of chicklit.
I love comedies, particularly british ones and I recommend anyone to watch Blackadder and The Inbetweeners.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2016 I travelled to Tonga and whilst sat on a beach was invited by a passing boat on a whale watching trip. It was my lucky day. Not only was I able to swim with humpback whales, but we also had dolphins riding off the bow of the boat and I was given an impromptu lesson in free diving and was able to see corals and clams and all sorts of fish, going down to around 12 m unaided.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to help anyone with their English study - I have two years English teaching experience, but also speak French and Spanish as well as a spot of German and Thai. I don't get enough of a chance to practice, sadly.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking, English, climbing skills (if you can get equipment), tales of my travels and many recommendations, books.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Malta, Singapore, Tonga

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom
