About Me

I share a small 1BR condo near Cheesman Park with my dog and cat. I intentionally downsized my space by 80% and I'm trying to make it environmentally friendly and flexible, like a tiny house. I have twin-sized Murphy bunk beds in my flex room, which is where you'd be staying.

I'm only looking to host short term stays from out of town guests, not people who are living in the area. I'm a light sleeper, so please no super late nights Sun-Thurs without prior discussion. Queer. LGBT friendly. If my status is set to "Not Accepting Guests," I likely have a foster kid placement, so there's no wiggle room there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel a lot for roller derby tournaments and it's getting expensive! I'd like to trade a place to stay for a place to stay so I can cut costs and meet some cool people while doing it. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

- Music: Garbage, Muse, Offspring, and President of the United States are my top teenage picks. Other than those, I like alt rock, classical, and 90's country. I dislike Jazz and I feel like I should like it.
- Movies: All the documentaries, Se7en, American History X, Silence of the Lambs, Inglorious Bastards, Fight Club, Memento... I was raised the kind of Baptist that doesn't consume much media though, so I don't own a TV and I don't really remember to make time for movies on my own.
- Books: All of them. Currently reading Wunderland and have a list a mile long at the library.
- Museums: Natural History, specifically the rocks and geodes, and art museums, though I'll take modern art over Impressionism any day.
- Food: Japanese is my favorite, though I really appreciate the unexpectedness of some Ethiopian food, especially the sour flavors. I can't remember the last time I set foot in a Chili's and I've never been to Golden Corral in my life.
- Beer: Sours!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumping! But I'm a chicken and I don't recommend it. :P

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn to cook a dish, especially ethnic food. If you're handy with a power drill, I usually have shelves to hang bc power drills make me nervous. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm quiet and respectful. I clean up after myself. I try to do more than I need to. If we're talking life skills, most of mine are research or computer-related, but I could teach basic knitting, bring your plants back to life, edit documents (technical or otherwise), or bake, even at altitude. I'm also really psyched to pay attention to your pets, if you have them.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, England, France, Mexico, Thailand
