Overview
About Me
I'm currently teaching English in Hanno, a small town in Saitama. It's an hour outside of Tokyo by train and I think the distance is perfect.
I brought my bike from the states and enjoy cycling, both competitively and for fun. I've found cycling creates a shared experience among people even without a shared language. It's wonderful.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never hosted a surfer as I have never before had the proper set up. But I surfed in Montreal and Amsterdam and both experiences were unforgettable.
Interests
I love film and literature, any medium used to describe human interaction. I studied Sociocultural Anthropology in school and I have a strong interest in Architecture and Design.
Photography and drawing take up most of my free time.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lately I've been listening to Jazz (Miles Davis), hip hop (sampled/spliced beats), rock, older American gospel and blues.
For film, there is so much I enjoy. Since moving to Japan, I've become into watching anything by Yasujiro Ozu.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing to the top of Palitana, Gujarat and exploring the thousands of Jain temples atop the summit.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy cycling and exploring the world by bike. There's nothing like the freedom found while climbing mountains or riding along hidden farm roads. Plus, it makes for some interesting interactions.
I enjoy sharing meals with people and exchanging recipes. Couchsurfing is a great way to learn about other lifestyles.
