About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Meet new friends, share experiences, create memories!
ABOUT ME
Artist, technologist, music lover, teacher, student. I like to cook, love teaching free workshops whenever possible (on topics from programming to 3D modeling and 3D printing to making electronic circuits out of paper and thread), like to bike and hike, and enjoy sharing tables with strangers at cafes.
Generally calm and softspoken but excited about meeting new people, sharing things, and experiencing the unexpected.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love both surfing and hosting, but I've had more of a chance to host recently because I'm in NYC for a couple years getting my master's degree in design + technology (artistic programming etc). Looking forward to many more opportunities to travel in the future, though :)
Interests
I'm curious about lots of things, and constantly discovering new interests, but here are some of my favorites: photography, building things (woodworking, crafts, electronics etc), textile arts, music (especially going to shows), acoustics, architecture, art, good books, baking, cooking, a good cup of tea!

Music, Movies, and Books
Practically anything by Haruki Murakami, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Halldór Laxness...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While in Beijing for a month, I would eat suan nai (sour yogurt) every morning for breakfast. Each morning, the yogurt seller would come sit next to me and crochet while I ate. I learned enough Mandarin to explain that I also crochet. One morning there were two sets of hooks and yarn and we crocheted together drinking yogurt. She told me my crochet work was beautiful but she was being extremely generous ;)
I also met a Polish postman late at night while badly lost in Copenhagen, who carefully drew me a map of every street and landmark I would pass to find the house I was biking to. His attention to detail was immense. I wanted to express some appreciation but the only Polish I know is "good morning" so I think I only confused him...
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share baking and cooking experience, sewing + knitting + crafty things, offer a plethora of architectural history, help you make a pinhole camera, and teach you to tap dance and play a variety of musical instruments if you're interested :)
