Caitlin: I am a 20 year-old college student who is soon to be exploring Europe with my sister and my best friend!
My focus in University is Economics, though I am also studying business and African studies. I'm one yer away from getting my degree, and looking for inspiration on what I should do after I graduate!
I love to be a little spontaneous and experience life to the fullest, and I'm always down for an adventure :)

Melissa: I am a 22 year-old college graduate who is really excited to travel around Europe with my sister! I studied music performance and psychology and am planning on studying music therapy in grad school. I'm not usually a spontaneous person, but I'm looking forward to going on this adventure and trying something new!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When we travel we really like to feel like we're actually living there, we want to be a part of the day-to-day life and culture. You can't get the true essence of a place if you are sitting in a hotel going to nothing but tourist attractions.

Caitlin: I also love to talk to people and learn their stories, my friends have often teased me for the conversations I have with a stranger while standing in a line, or with the employee that is ringing me up. It is a great thing to be able to talk and share and I feel as though people often forget that and get lost behind their technology screens.

Music, Movies, and Books

Caitlin: I love almost all music, but I am currently a big fan of EDM music, and I love going to live shows! My favorite singers include Halsey and Marina and the Diamonds.

Melissa: I also love most kinds of music, although Ed Sheeran and Florence + the Machine are among my favorite artists. Also I am a Harry Potter, Supernatural, Disney, and Game of Thrones fanatic!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Caitlin: I have been fortunate enough to live in several different locations involving my studies and work. In 2015 I lived in Zanzibar for two months with total immersion into the culture, I did things like learn Swahili, celebrate EID, and swim with dolphins, it is hard to even begin to describe all of the experiences that I encountered their. In addition to this, in 2016 I moved to Florida for four months to work at Disney World. I worked at the Magic Kingdom (the busiest Disney park) and got to interact with guests from around the word while learning how the company worked and ran.

Melissa: I've had the fortune of being a part of various choirs that have traveled internationally. During my years in college, the University Chorale had the opportunity to tour Germany for a few weeks in the summer and we were able to perform in places like Leipzig, Wittenberg, Lübeck, Dresden, and Halle!
